FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does an online store cost?
It’s a difficult question to answer, as each customer’s needs influence how the online store is designed, and thus, the price. Developing an online store requires significantly more time than creating a website with only information, which is why the price is also higher. However, this price varies widely, as it depends on what the customer wants from the online store. The number of products to be added, the number of subpages, and the amount of time spent on design all affect the price.

What do I get from an online store?
With an online store built in WooCommerce, you have great flexibility in what you can do. In practice, you can add as many products as you wish to your range. It’s also possible to address questions regarding shipping, how much it costs, whether it depends on the customer’s location, etc. If you want to start, for example, a post-Christmas sale? No problem. You can set up scheduled discounts for your products, so you don’t have to worry about turning it off when the sale is over.
How is the online store made?
All the websites I develop are made in WordPress, which is the world’s most widely used CMS (content management system). The use of a content management system makes the process of developing websites smoother than if one were to write all the code manually. To create online stores, I incorporate a tool called WooCommerce. It enables all the necessary store functions for running an e-commerce site. Today, there are over 4 million websites using WooCommerce as a tool to manage their sales.
I want my website to have a booking system, is that possible?
Of course, this is possible! This service differs a bit from an online store in that you’re not selling products but rather your services. Therefore, other programs than WooCommerce may be suitable. Feel free to reach out to me to discuss it further!
How long does it take to develope the online store?
The time it takes to develop an online store depends on the size of it and its content. However, as a customer, you can generally expect the development process to take a few weeks to a month in most cases.
What happens if something goes wrong with my online store?
After delivering an approved online store to the customer, I offer to address any obvious technical issues within a month after delivery, as long as the customer hasn’t made any changes or additions to the website without consulting me first. Once this month has passed, I provide various maintenance packages that may include support and other content. These maintenance packages are billed monthly. If one chooses not to opt for a maintenance package, I offer to fix any arising issues, which will be invoiced based on an hourly rate.
After the online store is launched, what happens then?
When the online store is approved and delivered to the customer, the process is still not complete. Websites require regular updates. If these updates are not performed, the website is at risk of eventually ceasing to function, meaning that no one can access it. The reason this happens is that the code language the website is written in is constantly changing. Besides the risk of the website crashing, not updating the site also poses a security risk. In most cases, when updating software, it’s not new content being downloaded; instead, it’s often the provider identifying a vulnerability in their program that could be exploited by hackers. To fix this vulnerability, an update is sent out to ensure that a hacker cannot exploit that weakness.
This is something that must be done, and I am happy to help with it. I offer maintenance and content packages that involve taking care of your website’s health, allowing you to focus on what you’re an expert at!
